NINTENDO'S first electronics venues
Prior to the Color TV Game, Nintendo's first electronics outing was to secure the rights to distribute MagnaVox Odyssey consoles in Japan in 1974. However, in 1977, Nintendo released their first Color TV Game console. There were many of these, peaking at Color TV Game 15, which has recently been announced as a Wii U stage for Super Smash Bros. 4.
Following the success of their last console, Hiroshi Yamauchi, Former Nintendo President, had the idea to take a game and put it on a small device that fits into one's pocket. This spawned the Game & Watch, which not only played a game, but also had a clock built in, technically making it the first Nintendo console with an internal clock. Each individual game was on a different system, as it was just made from alternating LED displays, however the clock was present in most, if not all, of them.

The Color TV Game died off around 1979, but the Game & Watch was running strong into 1980. Around this time, they jumped into 8-bit arcade technologies...
