Advance-ing our technology
The Gameboy Advance, released 2001, is made up of a library made up almost entirely of SNES game ports, as it is essentially a portable SNES. Any company who had made SNES games back in the day usually just ported them to the Gameboy Advance, took the revenue, and left, so very many companies weren't prompted to make original games for the console.
The Gameboy Advance launched with a lot of games, those being Army Men Advance, Castlevania: Circle of the Moon, ChuChu Rocket!, Earthworm Jim, Fire Pro Wrestling, GT Advance Championship Racing, Iridion 3D, Konami Krazy Racers, Namco Museum, Pinobee: Wings of Adventure, Pitfall: The Mayan Adventure, Rayman Advance, Ready 2 Rumble Boxing: Round 2, Super Dodge Ball Advance, Super Mario Advance, and Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 2. The majority of these games are just ports of SNES games or the like, such as Earthworm Jim, a port of the SNES game by the same name, and Super Mario Advance, a port of the SNES port of the US Super Mario Bros. 2, known as Super Mario USA in Japan. It, as well as all other Mario platformers for the system (as well as Mario & Luigi; Superstar Saga), also include a port of the original Mario Bros.

There were two other versions of the Gameboy Advance released, those being the Gameboy Micro and the Gameboy Advance SP. The Gameboy Advance SP is a Gameboy Advance that folds in half, much like the Nintendo DS, but a few years earlier. It also has a toggle-able backlight, something missing from almost every other model of Gameboy ever. I say almost, as the Gameboy Micro had a backlight that was always on. It's small enough to fit in the palm of your hand, and is almost the size of a Gameboy Advance cartridge, which is the reason the cartridge sticks out of the console about halfway.
