dual-screen everything machine
It is joked that the Nintendo DSi is an everything machine. It plays games! It plays music! You can make games! You can make animations! It's an MP3 player! It's a camera! There's an internet browser! It slices! It dices! It doesn't break! ...aaand it broke.
The Nintendo DS was released in North America before it was in Japan, a first for Nintendo, With launch titles of Asphalt Urban GT, Feel the Magic: XY/XX, Madden NFL 2005, Spider-Man 2, and The Urbz: Sims in the City. The magnum opus of the launch, however, was Super Mario 64 DS (A better title than the original title, Super Mario 64 x4). It was a port of Super Mario 64, as the DS could properly emulate Nintendo 64 games with a better graphical quality. Also included within the launch was a demo for Metroid Prime Hunters - First Hunt.

The Nintendo DS was made to cater to the more "casual" gamer, as to titles such as Brain Age and Nintendogs. This was just the start of that mentality, however, as up next is the Wii, which was based off of this mentality.
